Our business model is built on a long-term view to property ownership, and we work with our tenants with that mindset. While we have yet to sell a property without wishing we could have retained it, real estate is capital-intensive. For a company like Diversified, which started on a shoestring budget, selling some properties—especially in the early years—was necessary. Although we wish we would have been in a position to have kept all of the properties we have developed since our beginnings, we are grateful to have retained many over the past 35 years.
